A Study to identify stress nursing students had experienced in pediatric nursing practice


Abstract
This study attempted to identify stress the nursing student had experienced in pediatric nursing practice.
The subjects for this study were 61 students in department of nursing,. KungBook junior college. The data was collected through questionnaires from Dec. 13,1993 to Feb. 2,1994. The collected data were analyzed by frequencies, percentage using SPSS/PC.
The summary of the major findings of this study as follows
1. The total experience rate of 40 nursing practice items was 73.6%. The highest rank of inexperience rate was enema(91.8%). The most of the high rank of inexperience rate related to patient condition and treatment.
2. 75.4% of respondents had experienced stress in pediatric nursing practice.
2. The degree of stress by item : The highest rank of degree of stress was venipuncture with pain(93.1%). The lowest rank of degree of stress was play activities with children¡¯s and provide education.
The degree of stress by area : The highest rank of degree of stress was the area of value.
